About Us
The Caltech Advancement and Alumni Relations Department fosters a thriving and engaged community of support for the Institute. By connecting the people who share and support Caltech's mission and values, we will ensure the Institute receives the necessary resources to achieve Caltech's aspirations and sustain its excellence in teaching, research, and scholarship in perpetuity.
Advancement and Alumni Relations is composed of these major areas:
Advancement Services: Advancement Services provides overall AAR operations support. Their teams include Advancement Information Services, Finance and Facilities, Strategic Initiatives, and Prospect and Talent Management.Alumni Relations: The Caltech Alumni Association (CAA) supports activities that connect Caltech's 23,000 alumni to the Institute, students, and each other. There are currently 20 alumni board members of the CAA who meet quarterly on campus.Campaigns: The Campaigns unit is comprised of Campaign Operations, Advancement and Campaign Communications, and Donor Services. Together, these teams partner with leadership across AAR to carry out campaign-related activities and events, lead the development of overarching advancement communications strategies and materials, and manage both broad-based and targeted donor stewardship efforts.Development: Development advances the Institute's mission by securing outright, endowed, and planned, major, and principal gifts from alumni and other members of the Caltech community. Their team facilitates frontline fundraising activity, and includes the Office of Planned Giving and Foundation Relations.Engagement and Annual Programs: The Engagement and Annual Programs unit within AAR includes The Caltech Associates and The Caltech Fund and Parents Program. The primary function of each of these areas is to advance public understanding, advocacy, and support for the Institute and its educational and research achievements through strategic constituent engagement.Advancement and Alumni Relations is primarily located at the Millikan Library.
